I'm happy to report that the latest with our adoption process is good news. We have scheduled a home study for the end of next week!
We will be working with my friend from high school to complete the home study. She has offered us a discounted rate and the ability to pay her once we're awarded a grant or an interest free loan (to apply for these it's required to submit a completed home study). Last Saturday, I got a call from my friend in Bridges of Grace and she informed me that a family, who knows us and our situation only through this blog, have offered to cover our home study expense! This generous family wishes to remain unknown. I won't be able to tell them how much this means to us in person, but in case they follow our adoption story here, I just want to say: thank you, thank you, thank you - God sees your kind hearts and what you've done won't be unknown to Him.
This is so exciting because we won't start the process "in debt" or need to use any grant money we're awarded to pay previous expenses. We're going to be able to apply all grant money directly toward agency/listing/lawyer fees.
I apologize for witholding such great news, I should have posted an update sooner. I've been formulating this post for a week now and the picture that kept coming to mind is what you see below. Our adoption story was coming to a quick end, we were stuck with needing a grant to afford a home study yet requiring a home study to apply for funding. And then, light shone into our growing darkness. I love how the light in this picture looks like it's funneling through a break in the clouds.

Are we going the right way?
